How To Apply to Study and Work in Australia

Australia is an increasingly popular destination for international students and workers, featuring world class education, a multicultural society, and beautiful and diverse landscapes and cities.

On top of that, the Australian Student Visa allows for you to work part time during your study semesters, and full time while on your holiday breaks, meaning that Australian international students can increase their career opportunities through both study and work at the same time. This is an unparalleled advantage to the Australian Student Visa system.

So, how do you apply to study and work in Australia? 🤔

Read on this blog as we delve into the process.

Research Your Options

What do you want to study?

What kind of school do you want to attend?

Where do you want to live?

What is your budget?

These are all important questions that you need to ask yourself in order to come study, work and live in Australia. There are many courses and schools available to choose from, but we recommend choosing something that is relevant to your career so that you can maximise the value you gain from studying and working abroad.

For example, if you have experience as a Nurse or in the health care industry, perhaps an Ageing Support course would work well for you, so you can participate in one of Australia’s fastest growing industries.

“All the cities in Australia are diverse, varying greatly in climate, population, cost of living, and more. I personally recommend Brisbane, due to it being Australia’s third largest city, yet being cheaper to live in than Melbourne or Sydney. Of course, if you have friends or family in Australia, I suggest living in their cities 🤩”

Apply for a Student Visa

The most important part of the whole process! Applying for your student visa 🤩

Thankfully, a lot of the hard work is already done. By this point, you will already have answered your GS Requirement, received your Confirmation of Enrolment, and prepared many of your other documents.

Our team can help our clients apply for their student visa and are well-versed in the application process. In the last year, we have had many successful applicants land in Australia to chase their dreams of living abroad, working and studying their way through into advancing their careers 📈

Please keep in mind: we unfortunately are completely unable to guarantee visa application outcomes. While we have some of the best student visa experts working with our team, the final visa application results is still decided by the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs. Thank you for understanding.

Prepare for Your Departure

This is the most fun part of the whole process, but it can also be the hardest for some of our clients.

Moving overseas is a massive life event, but such an exciting journey. We have so many clients that are now settled in Australia, living their best lives in an amazing country, but there was some planning and preparation necessary in order to achieve that.

First, you need to organise your finances. The Australian cost of living is quite high, so it’s best to be adequately prepared.

Then, you will need to organise accommodation. If you have friends or family willing to help you, this step shouldn’t be too hard. Australia has many online real estate websites, and it’s very common for people to organise accommodation before arriving in Australia so don’t be afraid to reach out.

There are student accommodations available in every major city, but they can be a bit more costly than just renting through a typical real estate agent.

If you need assistance with this, be sure to reach out to our team 💜 We are here to help!

Studying in Australia can be a life-changing experience, and the team at EDUFIRST Visa Consultancy are there to help you every step of the way. We hope you are excited to take on this incredible opportunity.
